Amana ACB087R 8000-BTU Window Air Conditioner Review from cyrano. beware of the given measurements, …if you’ve got a small-width window like I have– here’s what the web page says– “Fits windows 14-5/8 to 34-5/8 inches wide.” The first dimension’s a typo– they meant 24 5/8 inches. Wasted time and (so far) money shipping it back, and reinstalling my old, tiny one.

This is the worst ac unit I have bought, yes it cools ok, but it is not quiet as it claims,it vibrates very badly and when the compressor kicks on and off it makes a loud thud noise. After three months the power button quit working but the remote still works. after 6 months the fan motor hesitates to come on at times. do not buy this. it is a piece of junk.
