DeLonghi PAC400 Portable Air Conditioner Review

DeLonghi PAC400 Pinguino Portable Air Conditioner | Jerry Garcia Reality Check's Review DeLonghi PAC400 Portable Air Conditioner Review from Jerry Garcia Reality Check. 5 years old and going strong, I live in a house built into the hillside in the hills of Los Angeles. You enter off the street to the top story. The house is two stories with a basement area at the bottom. The roof is flat. As other reviewers have commented the unit is in two pieces. I have a balcony and most of the noise is outside where the hot air blows out. It runs very quietly inside and efficiently. As others have stated, it is expensive, but you get what you pay for. My house used to be miserable in the summer. Now, (upstairs is approximately 700 square feet, downstairs is about 1,000 square feet)by keeping the top floor that is exposed to the sun cool, the rest of the house remains cool. I would highly recommend this unit to anyone that has a balcony that the external unit can be placed on. I have not had to have any service done to the unit in 5 years. Los Angeles is a warm place and this portable air conditioning unit does the job remarkably well.
