Haier CPRB07XC7 7,000-BTU Portable Air Conditioner with Remote Control Review from Upset and frustrated. If I could give it zero stars I would., I bought this product two days ago. I live in upstate New York and the humidity can be deadly. The first day the remote worked and I was very excited. Yesterday, the remote did not work and today I put new batteries in it. Guess what? It still doesn’t work. Without the remote you cannot do anything but turn it on. You can’t change the temperature, you can’t change the function, you can’t change the speed at which the air comes out, you simply cannot do anything. I called the 800 number and was told that the remote was on BACKORDER for 30-90 days! 30-90 days!! Summer and the heat will be over by then! When asked why this was, the answer was that the product needs to be shipped from CHINA and that in order for the 30-90 days to begin, they had to have my proof of purchase first! We all know that large corporations take several days to several weeks to process anything, so to add this on top of the fact it takes that long makes me never want to purchase another Haier product again. My suggestion is that you do the same with customer service like this.
